Thor

 

Thor is one of my favorite superheroes to talk about in terms of religious affiliations. Thor is a God in Norse Mythology associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, hallowing, healing and fertility. In Norse Mythology, there are nine worlds; Asgard is the home of Thor.

Thor is a member of The Avengers, he is not from Earth, but still is a protector of mankind and helps keep them safe with his fellow Avengers.

 

Thor was one of the 33 characters to be called the “most religious” by The Goddess in the Infinity Crusade along with Captain America.

 

Thor frequently expresses his beliefs in religion however, especially Christianity. In Ultimate’s, Thor had to be sworn on a bible and said that it was no problem, he acknowledged there is a greater God, he feels he is looked down on by God when entering a church with the other Avengers and speaks of Jesus with his other companions.
